How to see what Plone is serving out

Once it starts after a few moments, the Plone controller simply says "Plone has started".

Notice that two new buttons appear under the heading "Site Management".

  • View Plone - This should bring up a default Plone website that was added automatically during the installation of the Windows version. Couldn't be easier than that.
  • Zope Management Interface - This is the ZMI that we will be talking about and using extensively in the "Create a Custom Look" of these lessons. Just remember that once again, the Plone Controller in the Windows version gives you this extra easy way to open the ZMI in yoru browser.

For now, just click on the View Plone button, as I indcated below in red:

Your browser should open up and the default Plone site should appear as follows:

Look at the URL of the site address box of your browser and write this down, as well as bookmark it.  It will most likely be "http://localhost/". I will explain how to use this effectively later on.
