You are here: Home Free-N-Easy Lessons Lesson 2: How To Get Your Website On The Internet Using A Plone Hosting Service Use the Browser to Get Into Your Site

Use the Browser to Get Into Your Site

We are basically done with the hosting service WebFactions control panel. Everything else can be done either in a new browser window or in a new tab in your browser.

Type in the site's URL in the address field of the browser, in our example:

www.mydomain.com

The following screen should appear:

in new browser or tab open up the sites new domain.jpg

Seeing this screen means that your domain name is working, being correctly served by the application you installed called Zope. Remember that Zope is one of the building blocks of Plone, the CMS we will be using for our website.

Click the Zope Management Interface (also called the ZMI for short), which should bring you to the next prompt:

enter in the userid and password set up earlier in install.jpg

This is the secure login for your ZMI, so enter in your userid and password (in this example, again it is the same ones we have been using: myuserid, mypassword).

Click OK to proceed.
